Foundations of Writing
Students learn the fundamentals of clear, organized writing using The Baran Method. Through live instruction and guided practice, students learn how to organize their ideas, write strong sentences and paragraphs, and develop the foundational skills they will use in more advanced writing.
Separate sections are offered with instruction, assignments, and expectations tailored to each age group:
Grades 2–3 Section

Essay Courses
Students learn how to plan, organize, and write complete essays using The Baran Method. Through live instruction, guided practice, and instructor feedback, students learn how to develop a thesis, support ideas with evidence, and explain their thinking as they build the skills to become confident essay writers.

Foundations of Literature
Students explore literature through guided reading, discussion, and instructor feedback while learning how literature works and why studying it matters. Throughout the course, students examine core literary concepts such as literary elements, literary tools, figurative language, genres, and literary analysis while strengthening reading comprehension, analytical thinking, and communication skills. Students put those skills to work through narrative, argument, research, and expository writing.
