If there’s one skill that guarantees success for our kids, it’s the ability to write clearly. To be competent writers requires students to be able to organize and communicate their ideas logically. Once kids gain this skill, it’s tough to stop them from achieving any goal they desire.
Every child deserves the gift of being able to write clearly and the associated success. However, when I started teaching years ago, it quickly became apparent to me that most students struggled to get their ideas on the page clearly. I taught college students as well as at-risk youth, and both groups experienced difficulty with the same issue—understanding proper writing structure.
From my years of experience in the field of English Composition, I knew I could help students, so I created a visual aid that showed students how to structure their writing. The success of this “map” led me to expand my ideas, and soon other teachers were seeking me out to find out how they could duplicate this success.
Naturally, I wanted to help, so I broke my system down into an easy-to-replicate method that everyone could follow. Teachers from elementary through high school who used this method soon became amazing writing teachers.
Along the way, parents asked me how they could help their kids become better writers. I made The Baran Method available to them, and soon they were on their way to helping their kids become confident and competent writers.
Now, I’m happy to bring this easy-to-understand system to everyone. It doesn’t take a thick textbook or years of education to master. This method is all you need. Keep in mind, The Baran Method is not just a book—it’s a complete method. It will help your students become the writers they deserve to be, and it will help you become the writing teacher you want to be.
